Organized youth power is how we will win a state where we can thrive, and relational organizing is central to how we do this. We encourage one another to step into our individual power, and we uplift this strength in each of us so that, together, our collective power becomes an undeniable force. We work with allied organizations as collaborators advocating for youth, not as the single, representative youth voice.
March On & Future Coalition Member
Founded in 2018 by youth activists, for youth activists, Future Coalition is a national network for youth-led organizations and youth organizers across the country. With a focus on supporting BIPOC young people, queer young people, and young people on the frontlines, Future Coalition works collaboratively to provide youth-led groups with the resources, tools, and support they need to create transformative change in our communities and in this country. Mainers for Modern Elections is a coalition that is committed to ensuring that our right to vote safely transcends politics and partisanship. We advocate for safe, secure, modern elections. Maine Youth for Climate Justice
Maine Youth for Climate Justice (MYCJ) is a coalition of 400 youth from all over Maine who fight for bold climate action, a just transition, and a livable future in Maine. MYCJ was founded in 2019. MYCJ is open to anyone under the age of 30 who is interested in engaging at the local or state level about climate justice issues. Learn more here.
Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing
Founded in 2000, the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing (FCYO) is a dynamic collective of social justice funders and youth organizing practitioners dedicated to advancing youth organizing as a strategy for youth development and social change. FCYO’s mission is to bring funders and youth organizers together to ensure that young people have the resources, capacities and infrastructure they need to fight for a more just and democratic society. Maine Youth Collaboration
Maine Youth Collaboration is a coalition of over 10 youth-led and youth-oriented organizations from across Maine that center environmental justice, represent, support, and stand with Maine’s marginalized communities, support young people getting involved in the political process, and support students to make their educational experience reflective of their interests and values. This collaboration aims to build power through community organizing, political involvement, art, music, spoken word or any other form of self-expression. The goal of this collaboration is to build a network of youth organizers that represents the values many youths across this state share.
