Senator Mike Tipping, SD 8: Orono, Old Town, Lincoln

Mike Tipping is the current senator in SD 8, he has worked in co-governance with young people in his district to pass bills reducing tuition and to allow elected student representation on the University of Maine board of trustees.

During his time in office he established the first immigrant welcome center outside of Portland, hosted by the Maine Multicultural Center in Bangor and passed a bill to ensure farmworkers are paid the minimum wage. 

If reelected, Sen. Tipping will prioritize  universal health care, climate change, and higher education policy in his work.
